Char Nature School (2days)

Camping and Char Fishing! Try fishing chars in a mountain stream, if you can’t get any, catch them with your hands! Enjoy freshly cooked fish and walnuts or wild berries along the trails. If you are lucky, you might see Japanese serows!

Yuhidera – Environmental Working Holiday<III>

Fall Beech Wood Trekking in Togatani

The small village in Togatani, and there is only one family living there. Scoop the fresh water by the big drooping cherry tree and pick up some mushrooms along the trail, and now you are ready to enter the beautiful beech wood… Warm up yourself with some mushroom soup and enjoy the fall beech wood!

Special Tea Time with Nengwaji Sweet in Yoshino

Let’s have a tea break with special sweets called Nengwaji Nengwaji is the local dry sweet that used to serve with Shojin Ryori (Buddhist Cuisine) in Chugu. Make the sweets usig the mountain products such as chestnuts, taros, and walnuts. Enjoy the brisk fall weather in Yoshino with the Nengwaji sweet!

Amenomiya Tumuli in Bijozan (Nakanoto)

The biggest old tumuli in Ishikawa were built on the top of Bijozan mountain. Start climbing up from the roots of Quercus serrata (Konara oak)-Pinus wood, follow the trails walking around the tumuli, and enjoy the views from the top of Bijozan.

Hakusan Montain Climbing in Fall

Let’s enjoy the view of the leaves turned in autumn. We will take the most popular route of Sabo new road to the top and return to the foot of the mountain. You may see partly covered with snow near Midaga field, but mostly you enjoy the beautiful colorful leaves along the route.

Moon-Viewing, Tsukimi (2 days)

Another Tsukimi festival held in October beside the one in September 15th called “Jugoya”. “Shitsurai” is the way to enjoy viewing the moon and to celebrate the harbest by decorating the room with flowers and other plants, also belongings. Let’s learn how Japanese connect agriculture with the moon and how Japanese feel about the moon.
